Prada’s new A/W 12 campaign dropped into Twin’s inbox this week. Specifically, two images shot by Steven Meisel who unfailingly serves up polished images to match Prada’s peerless vision.
Not afraid to carve out her own niche, this time Miuccia’s models inhabit a futuristic vision that glitches forward by way of Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange. Those geometric print belted trouser suits that were introduced to us a few months ago are worn with dark-eyed stares, in what Prada calls a “futuristic enclosure” of Tetris like orange and white carpeted steps.
By creating her own video game “level” complete with model avatars, Prada has engendered her own world. A virtual reality, in which we can play along with her glorious, unabashed fashion intellectualism. We’re sure her printed suits with flared cropped pants, dip dyed tresses and rubber galoshes are set to be in our fashion future.

Miu Miu’s new flagship store in the heart of Toyko is a three tiered carousel packed with the kind of playful luxury that we’ve come to expect of Prada’s little sister. Sugary handbags and shoes jostle like bright jewels on gilt shelves in the newly opened Ginza Echogoya district shop.
Between the damask sofas, gold framed mirrors and crystal counters there’s no mistaking the opulence. But the Miu Miu girl has always worn luxury with an independent spirit and the store is more than a shopping experience, it’s an immaculate interpretation of the brand’s aesthetic vision. Prepare to lose yourself.

Though fashion’s fanfare is currently en route to Paris for the SS/11 collections, the nip in the air means we’re focused on what to wear for warmth right now. And judging by their winter campaign – shot by Josh Olins and styled by Kate Phelan – Topshop could have the answer.
This series of soft and autumnal images stars Ajak Deng (she of Prada catwalk fame) and Gwen Loos in an abundance of cable knits, shearling capes, camel hues and leather (or pleather). We’re coveting the hooded scarves and heavy-duty satchels – but love that the campaign is full of ideas that don’t cost a thing. Just add a turn-up here and a belted skirt there, layer like crazy and you’ll be bang on trend.

Is it us or do these rather magnificent mannequins spotted in the Prada window look uncannily like Twin’s favourite model, Freja Beha Erichsen? Clever Miuccia. Ok so it’s not Freja’s typical tomboyish look – but we covet the hell out these summery, graphic print day dresses. Next stop Portofino.
