In an exploration of the sources and personal history of creativity , the film looks at the essential life of an artist . It offers an intimate look into Ferrara’s life and his own artistic world filled with art, music, filmmaking as well as as a first hand insight on his collaborators and muses suck as Willem Dafoe, Joe Delia , Paul Hipp among others.
“I have been shooting predominately documentaries the past 10 years or so. Whatever the subject – Piazza Vittorio, Padre Pio – we also film the process itself….so our team and I are a part of it. The subject of my new documentary is the relationship I have to my work, to Willem Dafoe, and my music and art. These relationships are the starting point and I could not avoid facing what the world went through this year with the pandemic” explained Abel Ferrara.

Saint Laurent SELF 05 – ‘A night in Shanghai’
20.11.2019 | Blog , Fashion | BY: admin
Earlier this year Saint Laurent introduced a project of theirs entitled SELF — a series of stories capturing several aspects of the Saint Laurent personality and underlining the complexity of various individuals through the eyes of artists selected by creative director Anthony Vaccarello. The latest version of the series is its fifth installation titled ‘A night in Shanghai’ and has been curated by Chinese artist Wong Kar Was and directed by Wing Shya.
A night in Shanghai tells a story about the introspective research of ourselves which begins from breaking balance. Ju Xiaowen is captured searching for the balance in life by comparing the past and the present while looking for who she is within .
‘Wong Kar Wai envisions individual feelings; his art is like a vivid dream projected into real life, which emphasizes the contrast between the fragile aspect of humanity and reality. It was a very instinctive process based on mutual respect and admiration, in the movie you can find and feel the Saint Laurent fantasy taking shape as natural consequence,’ comments Vaccarello.
The short movie will also be exclusively presents at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai art district, open to the public from the 22nd to the 24th of November.
Crushing on Kravitz, Saint Laurent Fall 2018
27.04.2018 | Blog , Fashion | BY: admin
Zoe Kravitz is Saint Laurent’s latest campaign star, and we can’t get enough. Following on from the last video which spotlighted on the delightful Betty Catroux, the latest Saint Laurent video is a celebration of Kravitz’s dynamic, mesmeric presence.
The campaign video features a cropped-haired Kravitz dancing to the Velvet Underground’s iconic song ‘Venus in Fur’. Fifteen seconds is more than enough to convey the sultry, confident atmosphere evoked by a monochrome film of the compelling star. Dancing to the laconic melody, Zoe wears a military-inspired jacket with brocade detail, high-rise leather shorts adorned with stars and platform leopard print boots. If you needed another reason to crush on Kravitz, this outfit would be it.

Twin Picks: Wide-Brimmed Hats

When the models walked the catwalks back in February, there was one accessory that came out on top – the wide brim hat. The beanie reigned supreme for many winters, and although some will find it difficult to say goodbye it’s seems it’s finally time for a new hat to rule. Many designers this season have given us their version of the trilby and fedora, all with an exaggerated brim to keep those unwanted voyeurs at bay. Here we pick our top four styles of the season, so all you need to worry about is that pesky hat-hair.

Grimes x Saint Laurent Paris
01.03.2013 | Blog , Fashion | BY: Mariella Agapiou
Claire Boucher, better known as her alter ego Grimes, has taken her artistry into an unexpected, but not undesirable direction. The Canadian creative has collaborated with the recently appointed Creative Director of YSL, Hedi Slimane. Or should we say Saint Laurent, although we do feel a little sad about dropping Yves.
The two met on a magazine cover shoot, getting on so well they decided to create a capsule collection of t-shirts for Saint Laurent’s Spring/Summer 2013 menswear collection. Designed to give us a look into the dark mind of an enigmatic songstress, we discover her take on Slimane’s own ‘love poster’ of the 70s. Although disappointed these graphic printed tees are meant for men, we still can’t help but want one.
The collection is available at Luisa Via Roma
Twin Picks: High Tops

Sport lux is going to be one of the big themes this spring, although filtering through in seasons past it’s been building to a crescendo of sorts. But be warned, with this trend it’s easy to get sloppy, and it can cause many a wardrobe malfunction. Opt to wear your high tops with regular staples, those go-to pieces we all love such as leather trousers and over-sized blazers, and keeping to muted colours allows you to be a little more playful with the rest of your outfit. Here are Twin’s favourite trainers to run around and play in.
