Sneakers and running shoes have been an unexpected trend that has spread like wildfire in both the fashion circles and on the high street, and it seems that many consider them to be well and truly here to stay. Well, that’s what lifestyle retailer Pam Pam thinks, at any rate.
Last week, they launched the first women’s only sneaker store in the UK, 1,500 sq foot space located in Bethnal Green, featuring 10 footwear brands including adidas, Reebok and New Balance. Not limited to just footwear, the store will be home to accessories and clothing from a wide variety of expertly curated, well known and independent labels, including the Australian brand Vanishing Elephant, Bethnals and Penfield.
The store’s founders, Bethany Heggarty and Rio Holland, hope to enrich women’s lives; aside from their tightly edited selection of clothing and accessories, they will be providing different opportunities, such as yoga classes, workshops, music sessions and cultural events.
Trainers, clothing, yoga and female empowerment – a fashion and lifestyle concept that’s not just for kicks.

When the Stan Smiths came back on the scene, with it came fashion’s obsession with all white kicks. Understated, chic and classic, there’s so much to love about them, although keeping them clean can be rather tedious in this rainy weather. Here we pick our favourite styles to see you into the new year.

This summer seems to be the summer of footwear collaborations. The trainer variety of course. Pharrell for Adidas was big news and then we heard that Vans had produced a line inspired by Star Wars, but the latest is somehow even cooler. Superga have collaborated with Versus Versace to bring us the perfect mixture of luxury and comfort. Using the Versus Versace AW14 motif, the Italian brands have come together to create a special edition Superga 2750 model.
The kicks will be available online in Europe from June 20th and worldwide in Versus Versace and Superga stores from June 29th.

Customising your trainers is nothing new, although Adidas are soon to take the idea to the next level with their Photo Print App. Come August, when the app launches, you will be able to decorate your Adidas Originals ZX Flux trainer with any image you see fit. Centred around Instagram, the idea is that you can choose your favourite image from the social network and have it printed onto your kicks, but of course, the quality of the image will determine the quality of the finish. We’d love to see one of our latest SS14 editorials on some trainers, wouldn’t you?
